1/5 - Budapest
My first time and first day in Budapest! We arrived lunch time to Budapest from Tel Aviv, and it turned out to be easy to get to the city from the airport (Bus E200 to the first metro stop and then the Blue Line until you reach Deák Tér). We're staying at Maverick Lodge which has super helpful staff and a great location close to the metro stop Astoria - red line. Great place as well. Luckily we live almost next door to the street food karavan and we decided to try out the Langos (fried dough with toppings) and friend cheese as a late lunch. After that Gilad and I strolled around in the city park which had lots of activities and food stands because of the public holiday (soooooo much interesting food) and even though we were still quite full we had some delicious Kürtőskalács (Chimney Cake) with cinnamon. Despite the rain in the evening we managed to cross the Chain Bridge and to see the beautiful Parliament before we took shelter at the Castrum Caffe & Bar. Evening soup (yummie mushroom soup and a traditional Gulasch) at Fat Mama (Maverick's restaurant). What a great day!
