Make It Two

- january 2014
26/1, High on life
Okay so we're home, safe and sound, no broken bones and we didn't die in an avalanche. The 22 hours long bus ride home did however leave us with one sore arse each. We're both exhausted but unbelievably happy! Now this trip is what I would call a successful trip, we've had such a wicked time playing around in the Alps with the girls and the rest of the crew from Helsingborg. And we managed to get both sunshine, lots of powder and heaps of unforgettable runs. And the Apres ski and late nights out dancing, eeeepic - Val Thorens knows how to party, hard. La Folie Douce (the place to be for the Apres ski) was pumping - it's hard to describe, go on youtube and crank up the volume and watch it! I'm telling ya, it's siiick!

Soo what could you guys possibly be interested in knowing? The highlights of the trip maybe? Definitely the Glacier run in the pow, wow, we spent hours there, flying down the same run over and over again, backwards, forwards, upside down, with skiis on and without skiis. Our last run down was the best, hands down. We hiked up quite a bit and had untouched powder up to our knees! Ohhh I get all excited just to think about it, the idea of dropping out of school and move back to Canada for another season is oh so tempting. Why the heck isn't everyone skiing or boarding?!

Wow, as I said, it was such a good trip, but with the good comes the bad, and lets move on to one of the less amusing bits of our trip (except that Hannah got sick one of the days). Believe it or not, someone actually broke into our apartment (while we were in our beds) at night time, screaming "Fabian, Fabian". The girls started shouting at them and we all thought they left without doing any harm. Ahhh now wouldn't that have been wonderful, but na, the following morning when we were about to leave we noticed that Lisa's jacket was missing. With the lift pass. And did I forget to tell you that the company organizing the trip (Rollinsnow) sucks big time? It might be the most unorganized company ever, when we arrived at midnight it was mayhem, literally, they didn't know where our hotel was, where our keys were or what time the lifts or ski rental shops opened - I mean, really? And they "forgot" to tell us that the tiny blue paper bit that was attached to the lift pass was a receipt and that we all needed to keep it if something happened to the pass (no shit). I'll let you have a guess, do you think Lisa's "receipt" was in the jacket as well? Of course. Do you think we could get a new one when it got stolen? Of course not. You wanna guess what the guys working for Rollinsnow said? - "Haha, well then you're fucked". Nice one guys, service minded? My f*cking ass. Even the lady working in Guest relations for Val Thorens asked if Rollinsnow didn't think it was a good idea to inform their guests about the rules and to actually take notes about what person that got which lift pass. It ended up with Lisa having to buy a new pass for 136 euro and skiing with a hoodie instead of a jacket - trooper. I'm so looking forward to write a complaint, asking what the heck their employees down there are getting paid for. Partying and skiing perhaps?

Other than that, we loved every moment of it and I'll post some videos soon! Stay tuned!
